Lauren earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, in 2013. Prior, she earned her Bachelor’s of Education in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Memphis in 2010.
Lauren was born and raised in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where she attended Gatlinburg Pittman High School. She played soccer, basketball, and ran track for GP before being recruited to play soccer for the University of Memphis. Lauren also ran cross country for the U of M her senior year. She still enjoys running, playing soccer, and weight training. She has competed in fitness competitions and has run in several half and full marathons. She lives in Knoxville where she enjoys spending time with her husband and 11 month old baby boy.
Lauren has had training in manual treatments of orthopedic conditions. She has had a year of internal mentoring focusing on clinical reasoning and advanced manual interventions, as well as over two years of classes through IAMT towards her COMT (Certification of Orthopedic Manual Therapy). Her goal is to incorporate manual techniques as a foundation to physical rehabilitation and to assist patients in their return to functional movements and activities. She hopes to provide a fun and motivating atmosphere where people can go to receive high quality, individualized care. Lauren has three years of clinical experience.
